Duplicate submission and redundant publication

Acquire journals consider only original articles i.e articles that have been not published elsewhere. A publication is considered as duplicate submission when the content or information or data in the manuscripts is similar or overlaps or relates fundamentally with another article that is already been published/in press, or under consideration/submission. Redundant publication, the unsuitable division of study results into more than one article (also known as salami slicing), may result in rejection or a request to combine submitted manuscripts, and the correction of published articles. International copyright laws, ethical conducts, and cost-effective use of resource ensure originality of the manuscript submitted.

Manuscripts must be original and should not have published or submitted elsewhere while it’s under consideration for publication with a publisher. According to the APA code of ethics (APA Publication Manual, 2010) duplicate publication is violation of publication ethics and will be rejected.

If the author has any queries regarding re-using of a figure published somewhere else or that has been copyrighted, then author should take suggestion from the editorial board members that is reviewing their manuscript. In such situations, author must provide testament from the earlier publisher or the copy right holder’s permission for the figure to be re-published. In such state of affairs if the author was not aware of the violation of the code and the material has been published, then actions must be taken to correct the same by submitting the manuscript with necessary amendments to rectify the ethical violation. Acquire journals will consider extended forms of articles published at conferences on condition that this is acknowledged in the cover letter, the former version is evidently cited and deliberated, there is significant new content, and any necessary permissions are obtained.
